First Time Cruiser (or need a refresher?)
Are you new to cruising or do you just need a list to run through of things you need to pack just in case?
Here is my personal list of must have’s for cruising!
- Lanyard (to carry your cruise card)
- Medications (motion sickness/anti-emetic, anti-diarrhea, pepto, ibuprofen, Tylenol, cold/sinus, Benadryl, antacid)
- First Aid (band aids, neosporin, bandaids for blisters on heels, tweezers)
- Backpack (just a standard size or smaller one for each person)
- Small wristlet or crossbody purse (for the women)
- Waterproof case (pouch or box, but I do prefer the box ones)
- Portable charger (to take on excursions just in case!)
- Bug spray
- Sun screen (face and body, reef safe if going snorkeling)
- Aloe or after sun cream
- Downy wrinkle releaser
- Poo Pourri
- Towel clips
- Games (cards, phase 10, skip bo, Yahtzee, farkle)
- Small sewing kit
- Ziplock bags (all sizes! You'll thank me later.)
- Yeti type tumbler (and small dish soap bottle)
- Book (if you like to read)
- Toiletries
- Chapstick with SPF
- Magnets or decor for your door
- Cash for tips
- Over the door shoe organizer (and hook)
- “Cruise approved” power strip for extra outlets (cannot have a surge protector)
- Chargers for all electronics
Clothes:
- Clothes for days on ship
- Elegant wear for formal nights (1 for 5 day or less, 2 for 6 or more days)
- Something nice to wear to dinner for nonformal nights
- Long sleeve rash guard with SPF (esp if going snorkeling)
- Shoes (Water shoes, flip flops dressy and daily, shoes for dinner, sneakers)
- Hat and/or sun hat
- Swimsuit cover up
- Rain coat (light weight) or poncho
- Light jacket or hoodie
- Sunglasses
- PJ’s
- Jewelry
Extras/Others:
- Hanging toiletry bag
- Mesh laundry hamper
- PLASTIC REUSABLE STRAWS!! (They only offer edible straws on board)
- Snorkel/mask set if having a beach day
- Hand soap for stateroom bathroom
- Lysol spray
- Bottle of wine (per person 21+ allowed) & corkscrew to open it
- Extra reading glasses
- Portable travel fan if you need one to sleep
- Night light
